Hola,

a bit about me:

I blossomed and continue to reach for the sun here in Louisville, Kentucky, where I live with my two children and my Shih Tzu, Bugsy.

I’m a proud graduate of the University of Louisville, where I also had the honor of serving on the African American Alumni Council (2019–2020). I went on to earn my MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University, and both degrees helped build my confidence while laying the foundation for my educational and professional journey. Today, I teach as an adjunct professor in Indiana Wesleyan’s School of Business, where I focus on healthcare administration courses.

My first “bloom” in the literary world was my food blog, HappyEatingLouisville.com. It gave me the joy of sharing my love for food and discovering hidden gems across my city. That blog has now been folded into this personal website, where you can still find my Happy Eating section and explore delicious finds all over Louisville.

I also have a deep love for natural hair—though my journey to embracing it wasn’t always easy. Growing healthy hair takes patience, persistence, and care. My own experience inspired me to create a small business for women facing similar challenges.

That passion became Satin Beanies—satin-lined beanies designed to protect and encourage healthy hair growth. They’re affordable, stylish, and perfect for sleeping, lounging, or even tackling a rough hair day, all while keeping your hair protected from breakage and split ends.

Beyond teaching and creating, I’m also the event coordinator for the Black Paperback Book Fair in Louisville, Kentucky. This annual event celebrates and supports local Black writers, offering space for visibility and community. Held at Iroquois Park, it features book vendors, food trucks, and games—a joyful gathering that brings stories, creativity, and culture to life.
